Instructions for making pouding chômeur. This recipe will make roughly 10 portions.

Caramel :

  • 400 grams of brown sugar
  • 600 grams of cream 35%
  • 125 ml of Maple syrup

Instructions: In a pot, mix the cream and the maple syrup and bring it to a boil. Add the sugar and let it cook to boiling for five minutes. Then, rest it in the refrigerator.

Cake :

  • 250 grams of sugar
  • 200 grams of non-salted butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 350 grams of flour
  • 10 grams of baking powder

Instructions: Mix the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs. Then add the flour and the baking powder in three time. Let it rest in the refrigerator to obtain a nice consistency.

Pouding chômeur:

  • Put 100 grams of caramel in each bowl
  • Add 70 grams of cake
  • Cook in the oven for about 25-30 minutes at 350F
  • Serve hot
