I love having get togethers with family and friends. However, sometimes it's hectic to arrange a formal sit down dinner, so I often turn to hosting brunch. It's a casual and relaxed way to entertain and getting organized is far less complicated. The two most important elements when planning a brunch are the tablescape and the menu, everything else will come together!

I like to have fun when setting my table and I often turn to current trends that incorporate base elements that I already have around my home, in this case, simple white plates. I've used the same plates to create two very different looks - an updated urban table setting featuring blacks and metallic and a modern country setting that features raw and natural elements.

From a food and drink perspective, I like to keep things fun and easy so I often set-up self-serve stations. In this case, a mimosa bar and a waffle bar! For the mimosa bar, I've include Simply Orange with Coconut Water as my base. It is 80 calories per serving, is never sweetened, has no preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. I've created a fun blend by combining it with crushed raspberries, rosemary and fresh grapefruit juice. Allow guests to create their own mimosa by offering chilled champagne and club soda for easy mixing.

Wow guests with a DIY waffle bar by pre-making (or buying!) individual waffles that can be easily reheated in a warming drawer or in the oven. Set out an array of toppings including whipped cream, fresh berries, maple syrup and let guests make their own creations! Clean-up is a breeze and the bar set-up ensures guests all get exactly what they want.
