From kitchen prep work to cooking or grilling, kids benefit in many ways if you include them in the process. Chef Corbin and his son Bennett share how easy it is to teach your kids some simple grilling techniques.

 

Chef Corbin's Grilled Family Dessert pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 small round pizza dough-raw and rolled into a 12 inch round (store bought)
  • 1 tbsp veg oil
  • 1/4 cup chocolate nut spread (Nutella)
  • 1 small banana peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
  • 1/8 cup dark chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 cup fresh whole raspberries
  • 1/2 cup marshmallows, cut in half
     

Method
 

  1. Preheat the bbq to 375 degrees. Brush both sides of the pizza dough round with the vegetable oil.
  2. Place the oiled pizza dough onto the preheated bbq grill and for approximately 4 minutes.
  3. Turn the pizza crust over and layer with assorted toppings, starting with the chocolate but spread.
  4. Spread the chocolate and nut spread onto the pizza crust like a tomato sauce, top with remaining ingredients and continue to bake in the closed lid bbq for 4 additional minutes.
  5. Remove the dessert pizza from the grill. Cut and serve.

 

Grilled Vegetable Mediterranean Style Pizza

Ingredients

  • One small round of pizza dough- raw and rolled into a 12" round (store bought)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
     
  • 3 tbsp roasted red pepper hummus
  • 2 cups of chopped grilled mixed vegetables (grilled zucchini, onion, peppers)
  • 2 tbsp chopped olives
  • 3/4 cup of feta cheese, crumbled
  • Sprinkle of dry Greek oregano


Method
 

  1. Preheat BBQ to 375 degrees
  2. Brush both sides of the pizza dough round with the olive oil
  3. Place the oiled pizza dough onto the pre heated BBQ and bake for approximately 4 minutes
  4. Turn the pizza crust over and layer with toppings
  5. Spread the roasted red pepper hummus onto the pizza crust like a tomato sauce
  6. Top with remaining ingredients and continue to bake in the closed lid BBQ for 4 additional minutes
  7. Remove the pizza from the grill, cut into desired pizza sprinkle with Greek oregano and enjoy!
