Butter Tarts from Tartistry

 

Pastry

  • 1 cup 12 grain flour
  • 1 1/2 cups organic white flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup ice water

 

Maple Syrup Filling

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or organic syrup
  • 1/3 cup soft butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnut or pecans
  • 1/4 cup dried currants
  • 1/4 cup raisins

 

Pecans, walnuts, raisins and currants are all optional..you can put in all or none.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 8 minutes. Turn oven off and leave in for another 10 minutes.
