The gorgeous tulip and daffodil gardens that you see in full bloom come spring can only be yours if you plant Dutch bulbs now. It is easy, fun and the results are always satisfying. If you are anything like me you will forget about most of the bulbs that you plant in the fall and come spring they are a great surprise.

As a rule of thumb it is best to plant bulbs three times as deep as each bulb is thick. Always plant in well drained, loose soil and add a small handful of Holland Bulb Booster plant food at the base of each bulb for good measure.

  • To keep moles away plant frittilliaria.
  • To prevent deer, squirrel and rodent damage plant narcissus and daffodils.
  • For fragrance plant hyacinths.
  • For cutting, if you want to bring colour indoors, you cannot beat Darwin Hybrid tulips.
  • Take time this weekend to pick up some flowering bulbs, and give yourself lots of time to shop… as the selection will blow you away!
