This is the time of year to plant Holland bulbs. If you do it now you will live to thank yourself for the effort and investment come spring. If you are anything like me you will forget where you planted them and what varieties you planted, but you will enjoy the surprise all the more come spring. Not all spring bulbs come from Holland. Many of the large flowering daffodils that we plant this time of year originate in British Columbia where they thrive in the cool, damp weather.

When planting bulbs always make sure that you plant them in open, well drained soil at a depth of about 3 times that of the bulbs size measured from top to bottom.

After planting be sure to water them well. Otherwise, sit back, enjoy the winter and be prepared for a colourful spring.
