Harvest Decor

'Canadians have a lot to be thankful for, including a climate and vast areas of real estate that are conducive to growing vegetables, fruit and herbs for the table.  If you are one of the many Canadians who have planted squash, pumpkins, corn or any thing that will make a great show during the Thanksgiving period, now is a great time to cut them and arrange them in a place where you and your guests can enjoy them.  Incorporate a pumpkin, hallowed out and used to arrange fall coloured cut flowers as a centre piece on the Thanksgiving table.

Corn stalks,  coloured, Indian corn and gourds combine to add to your celebration.

Use your imagination and plan a trip out to the country to a pick your own farm or farmers market.  Cruise the stalls or fields with an eye to what will look festive around your place this autumn and remember that it is not all for show.  Many of the food items that we use to dress up the house this time of year make for great cooking and eating.
