DIY Foaming Hand Soap

This is such a simple life hack, it's kind of like cheating. Buy a bottle of foaming hand wash from anywhere. Once you've finished using it -- hold on to the pump and bottle! Refill with 1 Tbsp of regular liquid hand soap and top with water. That's it! The pump mechanism automatically turns the soap mixture into foam. One bottle of liquid soap refill will last for months and months this way.

Sink & Tub Cleaner

My favourite bathroom cleaner requires two common household ingredients. Baking soda and dish soap. Combine these two to make a thick paste and use it on your sinks and tub. Works beautifully, costs next to nothing to make!

Rusty Can Bottom No More

Simple tip that costs nothing to try. Coat the bottom of your metal shave can (hairspray can, etc.) with some clear nail polish. This prevents the can from leaving a rusty ring on your bathroom counter or your shower ledge. It works!

No.2 Spray

PooPourri is a real thing (commercial went viral last year). It's an aromatic spray that you spritz into the toilet bowl before you take a poo. It's supposed to keep the smells at bay. You can make your own No. 2 Spray easily. Rubbing alcohol + water + lemon juice + essential oil (tea tree is great).

TP Squish

Common sense tip that is perfect for households with small kids and pets. Squish your toilet paper rolls before putting them out for use on a holder. This will stop the paper from rolling too easily and encourage kids to use just enough...it will also stop your cat or dog from rolling out the whole roll as a toy. Simple way to stretch the life of a product so you can buy a little less often.
