Farmers' markets are brimming right now with fresh fruit and veggies but if you don’t store them properly your produce could turn from green to gross in a matter of days. Frugalista Amrita Singh has some tips for proper storage.

Get your money's worth at the farmers' markets with these simple tips.

  1. Go early if you want the best selection, or late in the day if you want better deals.
  2. Do research beforehand so you know what produce is in season, and plan meals around those seasonal items.
  3. Get to know your local area farmers so you can be in the know for new and worthwhile things to try.
  4. Schedule time after your shopping to prep and store your produce well so it stays fresh for longer.
