I get to try so many different products and training systems so can get quite jaded by gadgets or equipment that you know will end up hiding under the bed or holding laundry.  I was immediately excited about seeing and feeling this updated, upgraded JumpSport mini-trampoline.  Attending our biggest fitness conference in Canada, it was my absolute favourite session.

Here are a few ways you can train with one at home:

Cardio - The Fun and Functional Option

  • Pros: Burn lots of calories (More than 600 per hour)

Try this:

  • Plain jumping or footwork combinations
  • Technique - Focus on the push DOWN versus up

Conditioning (Mini-trampolines are surprisingly incredible for this)

Try this:

  • Lunges/squats - Place one foot on the trampoline for stability training similar to being on a BOSU
  • Push ups
  • Ab training

Lymphatic Drainage

  • Helps the body drain the lymph glands and stimulates the endocrine system
  • Helps with lymphatic drainage, ridding your body of bacteria, toxic waste, fat globules, trapped proteins and dead cells
  • Certain mini-trampoline exercises help you get your lymph drainage system moving
  • For more, see: "Macrobiotics for Dummies" by Verne Varona

Try this:

  • Light bouncing for 10 to 15 minutes
  • Rebounding can increase lymph flow 15 to 20 times

PlyoFit Attachment - Sets trampoline on a stable angle

Try this:

  • Throwing actions (Similar to the way you would use a medicine ball, against a wall or with a partner)
    - side oblique throws
    - sport specific training
    - reactive and interactive training
  • Squats
  • Push ups
